Operational Controls

 Section B – Operational Controls 5.4 Design & Development evaluates the supplier's design planning documentation, defined design inputs and outputs, verification and validation activities, and design change control processes, ensuring compliance with API Q1 Clause 5.4 requirements where applicable to the supplier's scope of work. 

 5.5 Procurement & Supplier Management assesses the supplier's maintenance of an approved vendor list, supplier evaluation process, technical flow-down of requirements in purchase orders, and incoming inspection procedures to verify that external providers meet API Q1 Clause 7.4 and API Q2 Clause 7.4 standards. 

 5.6 Production / Service Provision examines the availability of work instructions, defined process controls, traceability systems, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and control of nonconforming product, with particular attention to API Q2's enhanced requirements for service execution planning and validation beyond standard API Q1 expectations.
